Football career

After starting professionally with local UD Vecindario, Sicilia joined Atlético de Madrid for the 2004–05 season, but was mainly registered with the club's B-team. On 19 February 2006 he made his sole appearance with the main squad, playing one minute in a 3–0 away win against neighbours Getafe CF.

In the 2006–07 campaign Sicilia moved to CD Tenerife in the second division, being an early automatic first-choice for the Canary Islands side. In his third year, he contributed with 36 games (2,844 minutes) as the team returned to La Liga after a seven-year absence.
