PKP Energetyka is a company of PKP Group responsible for supplying Polish railroad operators with electric energy. Was founded after dividing Polskie Koleje Państwowe (all-national rail operator) into several dozens companies to meet European Union Standards.
82,4% of produced traction power goes for supplying traction lines, of which half is used by Przewozy Regionalne. 43,2% of non-traction power goes to PKP PLK company, responsible for servicing rail tracks. Only 0,7% of energy goes to non PKP Group companies.
PKP Group plans to privatise PKP Energetyka in 2011.[1]
