Oyigbo (Igbo: Obi Igbo) is a town and Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria. It is a satellite of Port Harcourt, lying a few kilometers to the northeast of the city. Sir Precious Oforji was elected Chairman of the Oyigbo LGA in 2008.[1] HRH EZE MIKE NWAJI was installed the traditional of Oyigbo since 1998 to date.[2]
Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) operates an oil well in the LGA.[3]
The Oyigbo people are of Igbo extraction.
