Oxazolone

Chemical structure of the 5-(4H)-oxazolone isomer

Oxazolone is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C3H3NO2. There are three isomers according to the location of the carbonyl group and two more according to the location of the double bound C=X (with X=N or C):

The oxazolone derivative 4-ethoxymethylene-2-phenyloxazol-5-one (a derivative of the 5-(4H)-oxazolone) is a chemical allergen used for immunological experiments, particularly for experiments on delayed type hypersensitivity.[1]
