Overland High School, located in Aurora, Colorado, and part of the Cherry Creek School District, opened in 1978. Overland High School is a comprehensive public, suburban, college-oriented institution. Overland High School is accredited by the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges and by the Colorado State Department of Education. Overland High School was selected to be on Newsweek America's Top High Schools 2010 list.
Construction has been completed for a state-of-the-art Science, Technology, Engineering and Math or STEM Center. The STEM center is built on the esplanade between Prairie Middle School and Overland High School. The 58,000-square-foot (5,400 m2) center opened in August 2011. It serves 6th through 12th graders. Programming includes the following areas of concentration for students providing opportunities to compete for global opportunities leading to careers in Aerospace, Bio science, Energy, Medicine and Information Technology.[2]

Football Team
Overland High School won the Colorado 6A State Championship in 1993, and made it to the 5A state Championship in 1995, 2003.
Cross Country
The Overland Cross Country team made their first appearance in a decade at the Colorado State Championships during the 2012 season. They finished 25th.
Baseball
Overland High School won the Colorado 3A State Championship in 1990.
Soccer
The men's soccer team won the 5A State Championship in 1995. Centennial league champions 2006. J.V coach Ed Davis Varsity coach Mazen Kayali
Track
The track team was Centennial League Champions in 2007, and ranked third in the state. Jeremy Rankin of Overland High School was the 2008 National prep leader in the 60m dash, and also named Gatorade Athlete of the Year. Rankin held the Colorado State record in the 100 meter dash at 10.32, but it was broken in 2012.[5][6] Overland High School also set the Colorado State record in the 4 by 100 meter relay in 2007.[5][6]
Gymnastics
In 2009-11 Overlands gymnastics team won state. And again they won state in 2011-2012. Overland's boys gymnastics teams were ranked number 1 in the nation in 1986 and 1987 and won three state gymnastics championships between 1985 and 1987. The women's gymnastics team was the first team at Overland to win a state championship.
Poms
The Poms team won state* in the fall of 2010 and 2011 going for back-to-back championships. In 2011-2012 they went on to nationals and ended up placing eleventh in the nation.
