Outwood Academy Portland is an Academy, in Worksop, North Nottinghamshire.^[1] It is part of the Outwood Family of Academies. The Academy opened after the closure of Portland School which had been on the same site since 1956. It helps to educate the students in the best ways possible, making lessons more interesting for them. The attendance rate has improved since changing from 'Portland Comprehensive', as well as the exam results rising. The amount of grades A* to C have gone up and more students are leaving the academy with more GCSE qualifications. Even though the Portland is only in its second year of being part of the 'Outwood Grange Academy of Schools', there are physical improvements. Visitors to the school are more impressed than what they used to be. They comment on students being well behaved and their uniform being worn appropriately. These comments are shown in OFSTED results when they last visited the academy, when they commented on how big the changes are that have been made to the secondary education at Portland in the past 2 years.
