James Bondfictional character created in 1953 by journalist and writer Ian Fleming, who featured him in twelve novels and two short story collections. The character has also been used in the long-running and second most financially successful English language film series to date (behind Harry Potter). The series started in 1962 with Dr. No—with Sean Connery as Bond—and has continued most recently with the 2012 release of Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig as Bond.
