"Out of Control" was the first single released by the American post-grunge band Hoobastank from their highly successful album The Reason. It charted at #16 on the US Mainstream Rock charts and at #9 on the US Modern Rock charts.
The song describes the singer, a person who is out of control after following someone's orders blindly, losing that persons trust, and not knowing what to do or who to trust, looking for answers to his pain and sadness.
The song was a part of the soundtrack for the movie Torque and the soundtrack for the video games Backyard Wrestling 2, MX Unleashed and Test Drive: Eve of Destruction.
The song also features backing vocals by Ian Watkins and Jamie Oliver of the Welsh alternative rock/alternative metal band Lostprophets.
