Our Lady of Assumption College is a private and non-sectarian school south of Metro Manila established in 1989. Our Lady of Assumption College is recognized by the Department of Education and the Commission on Higher Education
History
The first school established and currently serves as the main school is located in Villa Olympia Subdivision, San Pedro, Laguna. It was conceptualized by Dr. Maximo C. Acierto, Jr. and Dr. Ethelwyn A. Acierto on October 1988 (which was known before as Our Lady of Assumption School) to cater to the growing needs of a fast-growing population in the Southern Tagalog region. The school is situated on a 5,000 square meter lot which was purchased from Forform Development Corporation the same year.
During the first year of its operations, pre-elementary and first-year high school were offered in the school year of 1989-1990 and there were 377 students enrolled. After five years, its founders decided to put up another campus, thus giving birth to the Santa Rosa branch located in San Lorenzo South Subdivision in Santa Rosa, Laguna offering a complete program from Pre-Elementary to High School.
In the year 2000, a third campus was opened in Mabuhay City Phase 2 Subdivision, Mamatid in Cabuyao, Laguna. This time however, the College Department was opened which paved way to the renaming of the school to Our Lady of Assumption College. Several courses were initially offered: BSBA Major in Entrepreneurship, Management, Information System, BS in Computer Science, Bachelor in Elementary Education, Bachelor in Secondary Education, BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management, BS in Customs Administration, BS in Tourism and AB Political Science and two two-year courses: Associate in Computer Secretarial and Associate in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
In the same year, another property was bought located in Phase 6, Mabuhay City Homes, Mamatid, Cabuyao, Laguna but it wasn't until 2004 before a fourth campus was opened offering Pre-elementary to High School and situated on the same property. After 5 years, the founders ventured further south within the Southern Tagalog region to spread the same kind of quality education already established in the province of Laguna prior. In 2009, they opened their fifth campus in Tanauan, Batangas located in N. Gonzales Street, Poblacion II. It is located in the heart of the city and is very accessible to all public amenities.
In 2014, Our Lady of Assumption College went into a partnership with the local government of San Pedro and Cabuyao to assist indigent incoming first-year college students to pursue their dreams of enrolling in a private institution to finish their college education. The same year, a four-storey extension is currently being constructed in the San Pedro campus in order to accommodate the large, growing number of college students enrolled in the school.
In 2015, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Marion A. Ringor made a partnership with the Vice President for Academic Affairs of Philippine Christian University, Kathleen Rose L. Guimbatan to hold Postgraduate Degree programs in the San Pedro campus and the Cabuyao campus in Phase 2, Mabuhay City.
