OtakuFest is a convention of anime, manga, comics and hobbies that is held annually in the city of Lima, Peru and is organized by Otaku Project. The first OtakuFest was held in 2008 and was the first anime convention held in Peru.

This is an annual convention, which addresses issues related to Japanese popular culture such as anime, manga and to some extent grabs issues related cartoons of American culture, like Marvel, DC Comics, Harry Potter, among other things. Also you can find at the event, themed other genres such as the series tokusatsu based on Super Sentai that are the most representative heroes of Japan. The atmosphere is divided into several rooms or recreation centers. You can find an environment focused particularly on video games, consoles, nintendo, Xbox, PS vita, among other items for video games. Also there is a space for sales of collectible figures known anime, several posts where the public can see the difference in the figures, known series like Dragon Ball, Bleach, Saint Seiya, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Toradora, D. Gray Man, among other series of very popular public anime. You can find another room where the public can take pictures with the cosplayer the event, there will be many young people in disguise their favorite anime characters, other series Marvel as; Spider-Man, Iron Man, Agent Venom, Dr. Doom, Scarlet Witch, Spider Woman, etc.

The event has room for food, and recreation, and generally lasts two days are Saturday and Sunday, may be between the months of October, November or December.

At OtakuFest have attended several very million personalities from the world of anime, music J-pop, the Anison and voice actors interpreting through his voice to the characters of anime.

Each year the organizers are responsible for inviting a singer and voice actress to be present at the time of concerts, interpreting issues anime known as Digimon, Dragon Ball, among others.

Some who have confirmed their attendance and gave their concerts were: Yumi Matsuzawa, Aki Misato, Okui Masami, Haruko Momoi, among other greats.

There is a space Vocaloid concert for big fans of that genre. disguising the familiar figure of the medium Hatsune Miku, you may also be found Megurine Luka, Rin Kagamine, vocaloid Among other figures.

The event offers the public very large spaces and a concert hall with bands of that country playing some issues anime openings. As there is also a band contest called "War of bands" in which talented young at the time of the musical tested.

The design of the event was held adapting common elements similar events held in different countries such as Argentina, Japan, Brazil, United States and Spain, such as contests Cosplay, Karaoke, drawing, conferences, exhibitions, etc. The most prominent member each year are the guests from other countries.

In Peru OtakuFest often develop different activities every day of event. Each year the activities are renewed, some remain and others are replaced. Some of the activities include:

Notably, the winner (a) the individual cosplay competition becomes selected to represent the Peru in the Yamato Cosplay Cup International contest Cosplay held annually in Sao Paulo (Brazil).[1]

Also Peru is champion in the Yamato Cosplay Cup winner International to be out consecutively in 2011 and 2012. Additionally Stands area where various shops and businesses offer their products Merchandising is enabled, Manga, Anime, Soundtracks and other products.
