Osinakachukwu Thankgod Ideozu (born July 1965) is a Nigerian businessman and politician. A People's Democratic Party member, he is currently the Senator-elect for Rivers West District. Ideozu was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 1999 to 2003 and of the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007.[1] During those years, he represented the constituencies of Ahoada East I and Abua–Odual Ahoada-East. He was later appointed by the-then Governor, Chibuike Amaechi to serve as Finance Commissioner for a four year term.

Education

Ideozu began his tertiary education at the University of Port Harcourt. In 1989, he won the prize for Best Graduating Student in Environmental science. He went on to pursue a Masters degree in Business Administration at that institution.[2]

Senatorial career

Ideozu won the People's Democratic Party senatorial primary in 2014 to contest in the National Assembly election.[3] On 28 March 2015, he defeated his opponent, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Otelemaba Amachree by 279,745 votes to become Senator-elect of Rivers West.[4]
