His peak of career is presentation with the team in the UEFA Europa League 2013-14 Play-off round, where they played against Chornomorets Odesa (with two Albanian compatriots part of the team Elis Bakaj and Kristi Vangjeli). After final result 1–1 in both legs and extra-time, they lost by penalties 6-7 when Shehi made 2 amazing penalty saves and also scored a penalty kick himself.

In the 2014–15 season Shehi scored his first career goal. On 6 December 2014 during the match between Skënderbeu Korçë and his first team Teuta Durrës, Shehi took charge to kick a penalty himself in the 41st minute in where he scored.[2]

International career

Shehi capped for the first time in international level with the Albania national under-16 football team, mading his debut in the 1994 UEFA European Under-16 Championship against Liechtenstein in a 1–0 loss.[3]

He made it 7 appearances for the Albania national under-21 football team from years 1997–1999.

Albania senior team

He received his first call-up for Albania senior team by the coach Astrit Hafizi for the UEFA Euro 2000 qualifying match against Georgia on 5 September 1998, where he was an unused substitute behind Foto Strakosha.[4]

He returned in national team after more than a decade, as he received the call up by coach Josip Kuže for a friendly match against Macedonia on 17 November 2010, this after an emergency for replacing Arjan Beqaj, which was injured.[5] Shehi was as a second choice behind number 1, Samir Ujkani and made it his first debut for Albania by coming on as a substitute in the start of the second-half in place of exactly Samir Ujkani and the match finished in the goaless draw, mading Shehi to debut with the clean sheet for an half-match.[6]
