Onolatry

Onolatry is worship of the donkey: old Oriental and African worship attributed also to the Jewish people who travelled in the desert.[1]

In Imperial Rome, the charge of onolatry was used by the pagans to taunt the Jews and first Christians.[2] A famous example of this is the Alexamenos graffito.[3]
