Prior to forming One Month, Griffel launched the Skillshare course "Teach Yourself to Code: One Month Rails"[5] in December 2013. Castiglione was teaching a "Programming For Non-Programmers" workshop at General Assembly and Columbia University and he was also helping develop digital apps for The Black Eyed Peas, Toyota, and American Express.[6]
The two left their teaching positions when they were accepted to Y-Combinator. The company is currently 8 employees and headquartered in the East Village of New York City.
