Omar Fadel is an Egyptian-American music composer. Raised in Dubai, Egypt and the United States, he was educated at the University of Texas at Austin. He currently lives in Los Angeles, California.

Career

Film/TV/Video Game Work

His film credits include the award winning films The Taqwacores,[1][2] Just Like Us [3] and the first Arabic language feature film from Walt Disney Pictures, The United.[4][5] In 2012 Omar co-wrote "The Song of Admiral General Sargeant Aladeen" on the soundtrack of the film The Dictator with composer Erran Baron Cohen.

His television credits include ABC's The Goode Family, PBS's In Search of Oil and Sand and NBC's Phenomenon.

In 2013, Omar contributed two tracks to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

Trailer Music Work

Omar has written trailer music for many of the world's largest catalogs including Warner/Chappell Music, Universal/Killer Tracks, APM, and Groove Addicts and Sencit Music.

Awards

In 2013 Omar was awarded a composer fellowship by the Sundance Institute.[6][7]
