Oliver Niedermaier

Oliver Niedermaier, PhD, is the founder, chairman and CEO of Tau Investment Management. He is also a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on the Role of Business.[1]

Education

Niedermaier graduated with an MBA from Ludwig Maxmilian University of Munich. He pursued his coursework for a PhD and graduated Magna Cum Laude, while teaching Strategic Management at the University of Munich.[2]

Career

With the help of Riverside Company, Niedermaier launched Sage Holdings in June 2007.[3] The intent was to purchase a variety of IR-related companies, investing a total of around $200 million. Later, the name changed to King Worldwide, and Niedermaier served as its president and chief executive officer from 2008 to 2012.[4] Additionally he was an operating partner at Advent International from 2008 to 2012.

He served as head of Strategic Corporate Development of Computershare Limited from 2004 to 2005.[1] Niedermaier joined the Computershare group executive committee following its 2004 acquisition of Pepper Technologies AG, an international CRM software and consultancy business which Niedermaier founded in 1998. He also served as CEO of Computershare’s subsidiary, Georgeson.[5]

Niedermaier is also the chairman of the LMU Entrepreneurship Centre at the University of Munich and on the board of directors of the World Policy Institute in New York. He is a member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committees.[5] He also serves as non-executive director of UK-based Equiniti Group, which is owned by Advent International.[6]

Personal

In 2010, Oliver was designated a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and continues to be an active member. Back in 2005, Oliver and his wife, Constanze, established the Tashi Foundation for Bhutan, a nonprofit affiliated with UNICEF and dedicated to children’s education in Bhutan. Oliver currently resides in New York City.[4]
