Oldbury Academy (formerly Oldbury College of Sport) is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in Oldbury, West Midlands, England. It opened as a merger of Warley High School (formerly Oldbury Tech) and Langley High School (formerly Oldbury Grammar) on 1 January 2007. The Head Teacher, John Martin, led the merger of the two schools from 1999 to the present day. The school was deemed to be "OUTSTANDING" during inspection in February 2011. [1] The school has aimed to achieve the National Healthy Schools Award by bringing catering in-house and teaching the benefits of healthy living in lessons throughout the curriculum.[2] As part of the schools emphasis on sports, it has been awarded funding for a School Sport Coordinator scheme.[3] During the Summer months, the school is host to West Bromwich Albion F.C. soccer camps,[4] the school also offers numerous sporting activities throughout the year.[5]

In the 2012 set of GCSE examinations, 91% of students achieved 5 or more GCSE grades of C and above and 60% of students were awarded 5 or more GCSE grades including English and Mathematics .It is the largest and most popular school in Sandwell and remains an independent academy.
