Colonel General Oka Ivanovich Gorodovikov (Russian: Ока Иванович Городовиков; 1 October [O.S. 19 September] 1879 in Mokraya Elmuta village, current Rostov Oblast 26 February 1960 in Moscow) was a Soviet cavalry general of Kalmyk and Cossack[1] ethnicity, a Hero of the Soviet Union.

Biography

He served as Inspector-General of Cavalry from 1938 to 1941, and as Deputy Commander of Cavalry from 1943 until his retirement in 1947.

The town of Gorodovikovsk in his native Kalmykia was named after him in 1971.
