Oh Seong-dae (Hangul: 오성대, Hanja: 吳城垈) is a South Korean webtoon artist. His notable works are The Cliff and My Wife's Memories.

Career

He developed a love of drawing when he was in primary school. He also studied subjects about the arts. He started work as a designer, but he quit shortly afterwards. He came across the comic competition held by NAVER, which gave him the chance to debut.[1]

From October 2009 to November 2010, Writer J was serialized in NAVER Webtoon.

From April 2011 to August 2012, Rum Chocolate was serialized in NAVER Webtoon and from July to August 2011, The Cliff was serialized in NAVER Webtoon.

May 2013 onwards, Tales of the Unusual, containing several short stories, has been serialized in NAVER Webtoon. In June of the same year, the movie Horror Stories 2 was released. One of the stories is adapted from The Cliff.

From July to August 2014, the Chinese and English translated version of The Cliff was serialized in LINE Webtoon. From July of the same year to now, the English language version of Tales of the Unusual has also been serialized in LINE Webtoon and from August 2014, Sina Weibo user Yaoyaoxiaojing (妖妖小精) translated My Wife's Memories into Chinese and posted it on her Weibo. 550,000 people had shared the comic just after two days she had posted it,[2][3] making it an instant hit, and gaining him fame. From October 2014 onwards, the Chinese translated version of Tales of the Unusual has been serialized in LINE Webtoon.

In February 2015, Oh Seong-dae attended the Taipei International Comics and Animation Festival. He hosted an autograph session in the booth of LINE Webtoon.[1][4][5]
