Oguta Lake is the largest natural lake in the Imo State, Nigeria; within the equatorial rainforest region. It is important to the people of Oguta, Orsu, Nkwesi and Awo as a source of water, fish, tourism and an outlet for sewerage.[1] Uhamiri is the goddess of Oguta Lake.[2]
Oguta Lake served as a Biafran army marine base during the Nigerian Civil War.[3]
