Ognyan Stefanov Gerdzhikov (Bulgarian: Огнян Стефанов Герджиков) (born 19 March 1946) is a Bulgarian politician and jurist.[1]

Biography

He is a graduate of Sofia University and since 1994 has been a professor of legal studies.[2]

Between 5 July 2001 and 4 February 2005, Gerdzhikov served as the chairman of the Bulgarian Parliament.[3] He has been a member of Parliament twice (while affiliated with NDSV).[4]

Gerdzhikov is a holder of the prestigious Order of Stara Planina, receiving the distinction from president Georgi Parvanov.[1][4]

In addition to his native Bulgarian, Gerdzhikov is also conversant in German and Russian.[1] His hobbies include table tennis, football and travelling.[1] Gerdzhikov is married and has one child.[4]
