The Oga Line (男鹿線 Oga-sen) is a rail line in Japan operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East). It connects Oiwake Station in Akita, Akita Prefecture to Oga Station in Oga, Akita Prefecture. It is nicknamed the Oga Namahage Line.
History
The Oiwake - Oga section was opened in stages between 1913 and 1916.
A 2km freight-only extension was opened to Funagawaminato in 1937, with passenger services extended to Funagawaminato in 1968.
Freight services ceased in 1987, and CTC signalling was commissioned in 1991.
The Oga - Funagawaminato section was closed in 2002.
