The Occitans (Occitan: l'Occitans) are an indigenous Romance ethnic group, originating in Southern France. They are concentrated in Occitania. The Occitan language is still used by estimates range from 100,000 to 800,000 speakers; dialects of Occitan are recognized as official language in Catalonia (Spain).
