Oakville Trafalgar High School, founded in 1908, is a Secondary School located in Oakville, Ontario.
The school is widely known by its acronym "OT" in the community, or OTHS. The various sports teams go by the nickname "Red Devils". Grades 9 - 12.
The old campus was located on Reynolds Street until 1992, at which point a new campus opened on Devon Road. The school was very involved in both World War I and II. During WWI I, the fields were transformed to grow beans to help the war effort. In WWII, many of the students who enlisted, went overseas to fight and never returned. Mrs.Calvert's grade 10 history class created "The Books of Remembrance" to preserve the stories of those students who fought and gave their lives for us.[1]
General

Rugby
Oakville Trafalgar is known both for its strong men's rugby program and its strong women's rugby program. In 2012, the Varsity women's team (all grades) went on to defeat Ashbury College in OFSAA Finals in Ottawa in May 2012, and became the OFSAA Champions, or in other words, the girls brought home the gold. The previous season (2011), the girls brought home OFSAA bronze. The OT girls made OTHS very proud. Team coaches, Dan Valley, Adrian Lui, and Sonia Sennik have led the team to victory through their remarkable coaching skills and unwavering dedication to the program. The varsity women's team plays in the AAA/ AAAA division. At the same time, the Senior (Grades 11 and 12) men's team has lost twoHalton (regional) championship in the past 43 years. The defeat came at the hands of Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School in 2000, and by Abbey Park High School in 2012. Head coach David Schaeffler and volunteer assistant coach Gary Turnbull have managed the team for a long time, and Turnbull was the original founder of the team. The Junior (Grade 10) team also has a good reputation, and lost Halton in the 2008 season for the first time in 9 years. The final team, the Men's Midgets, are a developmental team. In the 2011 season, the Senior Boys rugby team hosted the OFSAA tournament, beating Abbey Park High School to win the Bronze Medal.
In recent years, other local high schools such as Nelson, Notre Dame, TA Blakelock and Abbey Park have challenged OT for the senior boys title. Other than the 2000 and 2012 years, OT has remained the dominant senior boys rugby program in Halton.
On the other hand, the rugby teams aren't the only good ones. Other OT sports teams have done remarkably well in the past years as well.
FIRST Robotics
The OTHS Red Devil Robotics Team (FRC Team 1334) is an FRC team that was founded in 2003. Built on principles of openness and excellence, the team welcomes anyone who is interested in participating, including students from other schools. Team members take on specific roles that together forms the team's success. This not only include competition-related positions such as programming, designing, and building, but also communication and business titles such as media, writing, and accounting. In fact, the team model is based on that of a business, and includes a chain of command, team website, alongside the specific roles assigned to each of its team members. From its establishment, the team is also actively involved and well known for its community outreach. The team lends its assistance in a variety of ways: mentoring rookie teams within FIRST, giving technological presentations to the general public, and helping the local food bank to fill its stocks. The team's proudest recent accomplishments are attending the FIRST Robotics World Championships for six consecutive years (2009 to 2015) and receiving the Chairman's Award. [2]
