OMG (initialism of "Officially Miss Guided") was an American teenage girl group, formerly known as The OMG Girlz.[1] Formed in 2009, by Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, Kiesha Miles and Rach (formerly of Royal Intentions), the Atlanta-based girl group performed publicly for the first time on an episode of BET's Tiny and Toya reality television series. They also have made appearances on the 2012 series T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle. In 2015, The girls anniversary via Twitter and Instagram that they will no longer purse a career as a trio. Former member Bahja "Beauty" Rodriguez, stated that she is scheduled to release her first solo single in late 2015.[2]

History

Shortly after the release of their first single "Ain't Nobody" in 2010, former member Reginae Carter, daughter of rapper Lil Wayne and Toya Carter, departed from the group.[3] A few months later, the OMG Girlz' second single, "Haterz" was released. They also were inspired by a girl group called Girlz Invasion In 2010, the girls released their third single, "Pretty Girl Bag". The single earned national recognition and airplay. The group ranked in over two million views in a mere ten months after releasing the corresponding music video on YouTube. The group downsized once more after Lourdes Rodriguez (Lolo), sister of Bahja Rodriguez, left the group, the reason given was that she was too young.[4] However, after a well accepted online search, during which time the group’s fourth single "So Official" was released, Breaunna Womack became the group's newest and third member due to finding her on a YouTube video dancing to Beyoncé's song "Ego".[5]

In 2011, the girls were added to line-up of the Scream Tour: Next Generation, by way of a national contest, which featured Diggy Simmons, Mindless Behavior, Jacob Latimore, Jawan Harris and TK-N-Cash. This tour helped the group gain fans across the country. Their first single as a trio, "Gucci This (Gucci That)" was a featured song on the tour. After the tour was over, in December 2011, The OMG Girlz were signed to Interscope/Streamline Records via Pretty Hustle/Grand Hustle (labels by Tameka "Tiny" Harris & Tip "T.I." Harris).

The single "Gucci This (Gucci That)" was released as their first official single under Interscope/Streamline Records, available for public download on February 28, 2012. Their second single "Where The Boys At?" which was written by fellow young artists Lil Will and Trevante was released on June 12, 2012. In 2013, the group made a video for their song Baddie. In 2013, the group made a cameo appearance in T.I.'s video for "Hello." In 2014, the group released another song called "Boy It's Over" .The song became a hit on the Hot R&B Charts.

Sadly, on March 12th, 2015 the group announced via social media that they will no longer continue as a group but will continue solo. Former Member Bahja "Miss Beauty" Rodroguez announced via snapchat on April 25th that she will have a buzz/promo single dropping on April 27th @ 12PM EST. called Jealous Type written by herself and Rick Rose. The song has had nothing but positive feedback from fans, friends, family, and former members Breaunna " Miss Babydoll" Womack and Zonnique " Miss Star" Pullins. Breaunna and Zonnique have solo projects coming no release dates for their singles but they are said to be coming shortly. Breaunna took to twitter to say she has been in the studio nonstop and Zonnique has had a photoshoot for her upcoming single which is untitled at the moment.
