Om Prakash Bhatt (born 1951) is an Indian banker and was the Chairman of State Bank of India till 31 March 2011[1][2] Presently, he is independent director on the board of the highest profit earning 'Maharatna' Central Public Sector Enterprise - Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC), Tata Steel Ltd and also Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (HUL)

O. P. Bhatt Started his career as a probationary officer in SBI in 1972. He also served as Managing Director, State Bank of Travancore from January 2005 to April 2006.

He was appointed Chairman of SBI in June 2006. He retired in March 2011 and had a long tenure as SBI Chairman in the recent past.[3]

He was the Chairman of the Indian Banks' Association (IBA) for the year 2010–11.[4] Currently he is working as an Independent Non-Executive director in Board member for TATA Steel Limited.[5]
