Nutgrove Shopping Centre

Nutgrove Shopping Centre is a shopping centre located in Rathfarnham, South Dublin, Ireland. Anchor tenants include Tesco, McDonald's, Dunnes Stores, Penneys and Argos. Since its grand opening in October 1984 at which the ribbon was officially cut by Coronation Street actress Helen Worth who portrays Gail McIntyre, then Tilsley, on the long running British soap opera, Nutgrove Shopping centre has been serving the shoppers of South County Dublin. The centre was built on part of the old Lamb's Jam orchards.

The first drive-through restaurant (a McDonald's drive-thru) in Europe opened at the centre in 1985.[1] As well in the discussions of the Social Welfare Bill of 1989, the experiment of the country's first social welfare services office being situated within this Shopping Mall environment are discussed. The centre has nearly 1,000 free surface car parking spaces, 70 shops and 5 restaurants: Cafe Calypso (formerly Bewleys), Pizza Hut, Burger King, India Gate, Starbucks and a McDonald's. The most recent addition to Nutgrove Shopping Centre is a new Food Court opened in late 2008 featuring Subway, Upper Crust Deli, Pretzel Express and Fragola.
The food court offers visitors a relaxing ‘time out’ where they can watch and enjoy the 'theatre' of everyday life passing by. As consistently pointed out by fans of the centre it is this calm oasis approach to shopping which is dramatically opposed to the sometimes overwhelming sense when visiting some of larger shopping centres.
The following local services are located on-site:
