Nuno Melo (born 18 March 1966 in Joane, Portugal) is a Portuguese politician and (since 2009) Member of the European Parliament,[1] having headed the list for the Democratic and Social Centre – People's Party (CDS-PP) in the 2009 European elections. He is the vice-president of the CDS-PP.[1] Melo was a member of the Assembly of the Republic for the 8, 9th and 10th legislative terms, and in 2004 chaired the VIIIth parliamentary enquiry into the 1980 Camarate air crash in which the Portuguese Prime Minister and Minister of Defence died.[1][2]
