Nuclear energy in Morocco

Morocco constructs a 2 MW Triga research reactor. The government has plans to build a nuclear power plant in 2016–2017 at Sidi Boulbra in cooperation with Russia's Atomstroyexport, and desalination plant at Tan-Tan on the Atlantic coast in one direction cooperation with China.[1]

Nuclear Weapons

Morocco does not currently possess nuclear weapons and aims to ban nuclear weapons, stated clearly by Mohammed Loulichki :"The Kingdom of Morocco, party to all international instruments on disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation, is firmly committed to banning nuclear weapons which remain the only weapons of mass destruction which have not been declared illegitimate through a binding instrument," Mohamed Loulichki told the UN General Assembly."
