Nuance PDF Reader, developed by Nuance Communications, Inc., is software designed to view, manipulate and manage files in Portable Document Format (PDF). The software is available as a free download from Nuance’s Web site[1] in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. It includes built-in connectivity to a hosted Web service that enables users to convert PDF files[2] to Word, Excel, RTF or WordPerfect using OCR technology. It also includes PDF form filler capabilities[3] (saving filled forms and partial support for XFA forms) and gives users the option to prevent JavaScript installation for security purposes.[4]
