nuBuilder is a RAD tool for creating web-based Back Office Applications.
The nuBuilder platform is an open source PHP / MySQL / Javascript database development tool which stores forms, reports, company data and any custom code in MySQL and displays the content dynamically in a web-browser.
This allows both the development interface, and the user interface to be built through the nuBuilder environment.
- Building Forms can be done with a built in Wizard.
- Building Reports are done with a built in Drag and Drop Report GUI.
History of nuBuilder
nuSoftware originally started out as a custom database development company in 1992, mainly using Microsoft tools to manage client's databases, and created nuBuilder as a tool to produce custom business applications in 2003[1] based on a philosophy that arose from the shortcomings of producing custom applications. It was used to produce customised web database applications faster than starting from scratch or from templates.
With the increasing speed and capacity of the internet making web based applications a viable business option, nuSoftware decided to offer nuBuilder under the GPLv3 Open Source licence model.
- nuBuilder was first released in early 2009.
- In early 2012 with its on going improvements, nuBuilder is now being downloaded over 1000 time per month.[2]
- nuBuilder version 3 (renamed nuBuilderPro) was released in January 2014 and is available on github.
nuBuilderPro Overview
Completely redesigned from the ground up, nuBuilderPro has been engineered using JSON and jQuery, making it capable of building enterprise level applications.
nuBuilderPro is essentially a BREAD (Browse, Read, Edit, Add, Delete) tool designed within a simple interface that both the developer and end user can take advantage of. Developers can also make use of additional Drag and Drop features when building Forms and Reports.
