Northeast Penang Island (Malay: Pulau Pinang Timur Laut) is the main zone in Penang, Malaysia. It covers an area of 121 square kilometres, and had a population of 508,181 at the 2010 Census (provisional result). The city centre of Penang, (called as Georgetown), is located in this district. It is also the official district seat.
