North Ryde railway station is an underground station on the Sydney Trains network in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, in the suburb of North Ryde, Sydney, underneath Delhi Road. The entrance is directly opposite the Macquarie Park Cemetery. The station has Easy Access for wheelchairs. North Ryde railway station was swallowed the former television studios of Network Ten which operated from 1965 to 1991.
North Ryde is the 129th most patronised railway station in Sydney (out of a total of 176 stations), with an average of 1510 passengers boarding per day.
History
The station opened on 23 February 2009.[1] The original, proposed name of the station was Delhi Road (named after the adjacent street). On 12 June 2006, then New South Wales Premier Morris Iemma submitted North Ryde Railway Station to the Geographical Names Board of New South Wales as the provisional official name of the station.[2]
