North East Bedfordshire is a constituency[n 1] represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2001 by Alistair Burt, a Conservative.[n 2]
Boundaries
Parliament accepted the Boundary Commission's Fifth Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies which slightly altered this constituency for the 2010 general election since which it has electoral wards:
- From the Borough of Bedford: Bromham, Carlton, Clapham, Cople, Eastcotts, Great Barford, Harrold, Oakley, Riseley, Roxton and Sharnbrook
- From Central Bedfordshire: Arlesey, Biggleswade Holme, Biggleswade Ivel, Biggleswade Stratton, Langford and Henlow Village, Northill and Blunham, Potton and Wensley, Sandy Ivel, Sandy Pinnacle and Stotfold.[2]

This is a mainly rural, professional area,[3] with medium level incomes, low unemployment[4] and a low proportion of social housing.[5]
