Norman Banks SSC (born 4 April 1954)[2] is an Anglican bishop, an Honorary Chaplain to the Queen and the current Bishop of Richborough.[3]
Banks studied at Oriel College, Oxford[2] before then studying for ordination at St Stephen's House, Oxford.[4] He was an assistant curate at Christ Church and St Ann's, Newcastle[5] from 1982 to 1987 and priest in charge until 1990. He was Vicar of St Paul's Whitley Bay[6] from 1990 until 2000. Latterly he was Vicar of Walsingham until his appointment as the third Bishop of Richborough.[7]
Banks was consecrated as a bishop at Southwark Cathedral on 16 June 2011.[1]
