Norm Peterson (politician)

Norman Thomas "Norm" Peterson (born 1939[1]) is a former Australian Labor Party turned independent Australian politician who held the seat of Semaphore in the South Australian House of Assembly from the 1979 to the 1993 elections, before failing in a bid to be elected to the Legislative Council in 1993. He served as speaker from 1990 to 1993.[1]

Peterson in his youth played boxing, rugby union, and rowing. He also worked as a waterside worker in Port Adelaide.[1]
