Nootka Jargon was a Nootka (Nuu-chah-nulth) pidgin used as a trade language along the Pacific Northwest coast in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It was a predecessor to the Chinook Jargon, with a number of Nootka words at the core of that language.[1]
