Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET) is a college of engineering in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.[1]
History

NIET was established in 2001 by City Educational & Social Welfare Society (CESWS), an education society in the region.[2]
Courses Offered & Students at NIET
Courses offered at NIET are: B.tech(CSE, IT, EN, ECE, ME, CVE, CHE, BT), B.Pharm, MCA, M.Tech, PGDM, M.Pharm, MBA, PH.D Research (pharmacy). Combining the strength of all the students pursuing various courses at NIET is estimated of about more than 6500 Students in the year 2014, which also led a rumour about transforming the college into a Deemed University. NIET is also known for having the Maximum Strength of Students among all the colleges of UPTU, UPTU is known to have about 890 colleges affiliated to it which makes it the Largest University in Asia in terms of Number of Students as said by UPTU .
Accreditation
All courses offered by the institute are approved by AICTE and two departments have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).[3]
Campus
NIET is in Greater Noida, connected to Noida and Delhi through an expressway. The institute has an area of 13.90 acres (56,300 m2). The institute has a library which occupies over 14,000 square feet (1,300 m2). It has six computer laboratories with over 1200 computers. The college has a 45 Mbit/s dedicated lease line, 24-hour Internet connectivity (this service actually breaks down at night after 01:00 am, but is not much efficient because most of the webpages are blocked by the Network Admin of the College, as said by the Students, which also acts as a barrier for student's growth in some cases, however some websites on the network can be accessed by getting particular certificates from the admin. The local Intranet, a 100 Mbit/s switched network, provides an interactive platform form sharing resources and building communities. NIET Campus has also got new ERP service for its faculty and is planning to make it available for the students also.
NIET is known for its calm culture, discipline, dedicated faculty and management. The institute is trying to create its name in campus placements and therefore focuses on bringing many companies to college. The institute provides transportation facility to all parts of Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and some parts of Delhi.
In 2013, NIET also got Microsoft Innovation Center established at the Campus since NIET College is an Ed-Vantage Platinum Partner of Microsoft because of maximum number of students in its 2012 batch (about 1425 students registered in 2012 in B.Tech). NIET supports its students for Participation in various competitions and events like MSP Program, Dream Spark Yatra Microsoft etc.
Recently, Campus has got a new academic block's construction started at plot.No.19 so that more and more better facilities can be provided for study to the students.
Hostels
The institute has an on-campus hostel for girls and boys with co-operative mess run by students on no profit and no loss basis. The hostel also provides round-the-clock security arrangements with running hot and cold water through PNG fired boilers.The recent addition of new plot (for first year) has added more hostel seats and better infrastructure. The boys hostel at plot no.19 is divided into 3 block namely A, B and C block. And there is a separate hostel for girls named as Sarojini Hostel. Round the clock, WiFi (internet) facility, medical facility and Security is provided at all the hostels.
New campus
Institute has a new campus (plot no.14) opposite to IILM. The hostel at new campus has been named: OM HOSTEL. It started in 2012 only for first-year students. The new campus has 3 buildings (1 academic building and 2 boys hostel buildings), one of the hostel buildings has 3 and 4 seater rooms and the other building has single seater and 2 seater rooms. Both the buildings are well equipped with the basic facilities and got all emergency arrangements, fire fighting equipment, 24hrs power backup, 24hrs drinking water and canteen facility etc. The campus has also got a Gym, which is fully air conditioned and well equipped with all modern machines for body fitness. The academic building has all practical labs required for 1st year engineering students, class rooms are well managed and have a capacity of more than 1300 students studying at a time inside the building. The new campus of NIET has got a green grass ground where students perform sports and other activities.

Placements at NIET, Gr.NOIDA
NIET has proven itself in terms of placements. Session 2013-2014 has been a fabulous placement session for NIET. The first company to visit NIET was Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in which around 43 candidates got the job offers and also many have joined. There are 8 most remarkable placements from NIET this year i.e. 4 students got recruited in SAHARA Group. (South Africa) with a package of 10.40 LPA and 4 Students from Chemical Engineering Department got selected in Evolution.(Canada) with a package of 50,000 US$/annum. Also, NIET organized a pool campus drive for HCL India in which 2500 students were the part of the recruitment process from all over the India and 19 students got recruited finally, in which 12 students were from NIET, Gr.NOIDA. Many students got recruited in groups like: Infoedge India Ltd., India Mart Group, ING Vysaya, HDFC Bank, 99accres.com etc. The Career Management Cell (CMC) team at NIET has worked hard and proven the skills and ability of the NIETians at the Global Level. Thus such a good placement graph of NIET in the NCR region is a result of all work done by the CMC team at NIET, Gr.Noida. In the session 2013-2014, more than 560 students got placed from NIET in reputed IT Companies and MNCs.
NIET also has a Prometric Exam Centre, where students register themselves for the various exams and prove themselves with their verified score card. This is also a part of the efforts put by the CMC at NIET. NIET has also got an e-cell (Entrepreneurship Cell), that helps students in their Start-ups.
NIET has got tie-ups with various companies: Microsoft (Microsoft Innovation Center - Ed-Vantage Platinum Partner), KPMG (Six Sigma Certification), Oracle, icici prudential etc.
