Nogaysky District (Russian: Ногайский райо́н; Nogay: Ногай районы) is an administrative[1] and a municipal[2] district (raion), one of the ten in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Russia.It is located in the north of the republic. The area of the district is 187 square kilometers (72 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement) of Erken-Shakhar.[1] Population: 15,659 (2010 Census).[3] The population of Erken-Shakhar accounts for 26.7% of the district's total population.[3]
