Noche de Gala

Noche de Gala (Gala Night Ball), was a television variety show produced by Paquito Cordero, originated in San Juan, Puerto Rico, broadcast by WKAQ-TV Telemundo, Channel 2 for as long as 25 years.

Originally, during the early 1970s, it was called, El Show Rambler Toyota, (The Rambler-Toyota Show), hosted by Yoyo Boing. Later, it was called Jueves de Gala, (Thursday Gala Ball). By then, it was locally transmitted. When the show started being internationally broadcast, its name was changed permanently to Noche de Gala (Gala Night Ball) because it could be telecast any day of the week, in different countries.

Since then, its host was Eddie Miró, as the main MC, opposite several co-hosts such as Marisol Malaret, Deborah Carthy Deu, Marylín Pupo and Gilda Haddock. It was a weekly musical, with local and international singers performing as solo guest stars, such as Ednita Nazario, Wilkins, Menudo, Celia Cruz, Héctor Lavoe, Luis Enrique, Julio Iglesias, Lou Briel, Sandro de América, Sara Montiel, Lucecita Benítez, Rocío Jurado, Isabel Pantoja, Dagmar, Gilberto Monroig, Glenn Monroig, Nydia Caro, Raphael, and Lola Flores, among many others.
