Nizamabad Railway Station is a railway station which serves the city of Nizamabad, Telangana, India. It is a major station on Secunderabad-Manmad railway line. It falls in Hyderabad Division under the South Central Railway zone of Indian Railways.Due to high urbanisation and extension of city limits,the Jankampet Junction railway station on north corridor and Dichpally railway station on the south corridor come under the jurisdiction of Nizamabad,making the total number of stations in the Nizamabad city to 3.
History
On 30 June 2004 the SCR operated the last metre gauge train on the Nizamabad–Manoharabad line[1] bringing to an end the metre gauge services which started in the 1930s on the Secunderabad–Manmad line of the Nizam's State Railways (formerly Hyderabad-Godavari Valley Railways)
