Nikki Glaser (born June 1, 1984) is an American stand-up comedian, podcast and television host.
Early life
Glaser was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Julie E. (née Burke) and Edward J. Glaser.[1][2] She has German and Irish ancestry.[2] Glaser mostly grew up in St. Louis, Missouri.[3] She graduated from Kirkwood High School, attended the University of Kansas, and graduated with a degree in English.[4]
Career
Glaser first performed stand-up at the age of 18, and in less than two years, landed a spot as a semi-finalist on Last Comic Standing. Since then, Nikki has performed stand-up on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, CONAN, and two seasons of Last Comic Standing. She can also be seen on MTV shows such as Money from Strangers, Awkward: The After Show, and Failosophy.[5]
Nikki played a small role in Henry Phillips' 2009 film Punching the Clown.[6] She also appeared as herself in Jordan Brady's documentary I Am Comic.[7]
Since early 2011, Nikki has been hosting a podcast with comedian Sara Schaefer called You Had To Be There.[4] Nikki & Sara Live, a weekly talk show television series hosted by Glaser and Schaefer, premiered on January 29, 2013, on MTV.[8] The show was canceled on November 22, 2013 after two seasons.[9]
Nikki co-hosted a podcast with comedian, Phil Hanley, and roommate/musician, Anya Marina, called "We Know Nothing." We Know Nothing is a humorous relationship based podcast that takes calls from listeners and attempts to give them love advice. She recently left the podcast after she determined that it was interfering with her personal relationships.
