Nikita Nesterov (born 28 March 1993) is a Russian professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing with the the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Playing Career

Juniors

Nesterov was selected by the Lightning in the 5th round (148th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Nesterov was also drafted by Traktor Chelyabinsk who selected him in the 1st round (22nd overall) of the 2010 KHL Junior Draft.[1] He played two seasons with Chelyabinsk in the Kontinental Hockey League.

On April 30, 2013, Nesterov was signed to a three-year entry level contract by the Tampa Bay Lightning.[2]

Syracuse Crunch

On December 31, 2014, the Tampa Bay Lightning recalled Nestrov from the Syracuse Crunch. He has played in 32 games with the Crunch this season, recording three goals and 14 points with a plus-4 rating and 26 penalty minutes. Nesterov has played in 86 career AHL games, all with the Crunch over the past two seasons. He has seven goals and 30 points with 65 penalty minutes.[3]

Tampa Bay Lightning

On December 31, 2014, Nesterov made his NHL debut in a Lightning 5-1 win over the Buffalo Sabers. Nestrov was a plus-1 and played a little over fifteen minutes in the game.[4]
