Nicolás Vázquez (Spanish pronunciation: [nikoˈlas ˈβahkes]; born 12 June 1977) is a Martín Fierro Award—nominated Argentine actor and singer. He is best known for his roles in the television series Verano del '98, Alma Pirata and Casi Ángeles.
Personal life
Vázquez married actress Mercedes Funes on 24 April 2006 in Buenos Aires; however, they divorced at the end of 2007. Since then, he is on a relationship with his Casi Ángeles castmate Gimena Accardi.
Career
Vázquez debuted in television series 5 Amigos, starring alsongside Juan Gil Navarro, Nicolás Pauls, Gastón Pauls and Mike Amigorena. He then acted in television series Verano del '98, created by Cris Morena. After few minor roles in telenovelas Como vos & yo, Trillizos, ¡dijo la partera!, Calientes and Ilusiones (compartidas), he co-starred with Florencia Bertotti, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, Nicolás Cabré and Mariano Martínez in 2002 smash-hit Son Amores. Vázquez appeared in series Los Pensionados in 2004, and starred as Enzo Michelli in ¿Quién es el Jefe?, Argentine version of American hit series Who's the Boss?, in 2005. He also made his film debut in 2005 film El buen destino.
In 2006 Vázquez replaced Mariano Martinez as one of the leads in Cris Morena 2006 series Alma Pirata, starring alongside Benjamín Rojas and Luisana Lopilato. He was chose as the lead of the next Cris project, Casi Ángeles, which he starred during the first two seasons . The lead actors also formed a band named Teen Angels, one of the best-selling Argentine artists, according to CAPIF. In 2008, Vázquez was nominated for Martín Fierro Award for Best Leading Actor in a Comedy for his role in Casi Ángeles.
After his stint in Casi Angeles, he starred in Los Unicos for Canal 13 and dedicated himself to theater and cinema. In 2013, he'll star in new Canal 13 bet Los Amigos de Siempre.
