The Nicky Rackard Cup (Irish: Corn Nicoláis Mhic Riocaird) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is a competition for the third tier of hurling teams. The winning team is promoted to the Christy Ring Cup under the 2008 Hurling Development proposals.[1]
The competition, named after famed Wexford hurler Nicky Rackard (a member of a famous hurling family), involves a series of games played during the summer months, with the final being played at Croke Park, Dublin. The inaugural winner was eastern English outfit London. The reigning champions are Ulster side Tyrone, who overcame Fingal by 1-17 to 1-16 in the final.
