Nick Disbray

Nick Disbray is an Australian singer, solo artist and composer, formerly known as a member of 1980s rock group Big Pig, where he was male lead vocalist. Nick Disbray was born in London, and moved to Melbourne, and lived in St Kilda for half of his life.

Following the demise of Big Pig in 1990, Disbray released the solo album Yep! in 1994. "The Jazz Album" was released on the same year. The beginning of Nick Disbray's solo career marked a new era for him to explore and refine his own creative genius.

1998 saw the release of the GIRL album, which was largely a funk record. GIRL was recorded in 1998, but the record was musically nearly 20 years ahead of its time. A fusion of Massive Attack and David Guetta, the music is sensual, romantic and smooth. Nick Disbray saw an opportunity to re-release GIRL as mass culture had finally caught up to a timeless record. GIRL is an album which presents sensual and delightful alternatives to the harshness of BDSM, whilst still offering a delightful audio background for loving couples.

In September 2004, Disbray released the E.P. containing the single "Going to the Church". All discs were released on Vivid Records.

During December 2014, Disbray began writing songs for a new album. The idea was to write and record each song within 15 minutes and quickly get the audio recording onto his iPhone.

This allowed for a fresh approach to songwriting, sometimes 3 songs would be written in an evening.

These versions of the songs can be heard and downloaded on http://www.nickdisbray.com

FREE is available on http://www.nickdisbray.com and is ethereal. It is comparatively like Ed Sheeran's X album, and also reminiscent of Nirvana's MTV Unplugged album.

Nick Disbray has again started to record new songs in the studio, and his biography titled Into the Phoenix is expected to be released in August 2015 and will be available on AMAZON, published by Disbray Media.

Nick has a YouTube channel featuring his songs and a range of children's comical characters, including Ratty Rainbow Cat. He has also started a clothing and lifestyle label Rapscalion, featuring his artwork.

Nick Disbray has been described by his peers and contemporaries as a musical ingénue. He is a savant genius and 2015 will see the resurgence of the epic talent possessed by this true artist.
