History

The Franchise was formed in 2010 as an original franchise in the 2010-11 season of the Continental Junior Hockey League. The Fury's first head coach will be Jim Cashman. Cashman has played professionally with the Bakersfield Fog and the Russian Red Army of the WCHL and for the Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League. He also played semi-pro hockey with the Bakersfield Oilers of the Pacific Southwest Hockey League and the Norfolk IceCats of the North Eastern Hockey League. Cashman coached the Dunnville Terriers of the Niagara & District Junior C Hockey League. When Cashman accepted the Head Coaching position with the Terriers, they had lost 60+ games in a row over the previous 2 seasons. Cashman led them to a win in the third game of the season against the second placed Dundas Blues. He was replaced as Head Coach December 9, 2008. In 2009 Cashman joined the coaching staff of the Port Colborne Pirates of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League as an assistant coach and goaltending coach.[1]
