Newmarket Academy (formerly Newmarket College) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in Newmarket in the English county of Suffolk.[1]
Previously a community school administered by Suffolk County Council, Newmarket College converted to academy status on 1 July 2014 and was renamed Newmarket Academy. However the school continues to coordinate with Suffolk County Council for admissions.
Newmarket Academy offers an extensive curriculum of subjects and GCSE and A Level courses, and has a busy schedule of cross-curricular study and extra-curricular activities. In the academic year 2012-2013 GCSE results saw 100% of Catering Studies, Drama, and Dance students at Newmarket College awarded A*-C grades, in Music, 86% of students received A*-C grades, in Biology 64%, Art and Design 72%, Religious Studies 89%, Maths 63% and in English Language 58% achieved A*-C grades. The number of pupils with five+ A*-C GCSEs was 67%.
