Newall Green High School is a secondary school in Wythenshawe, Manchester, England with about 996 students enrolled, including 105 students in the sixth form which opened in September 2009.[1] Following a September 2009 inspection, an Ofsted report classed the school with a Grade 3 (satisfactory).[1] The school was designated as an arts college in 2000, a science with mathematics college in 2004, and a vocational college in 2006.[1] and has received the Healthy Schools Award (Gold), Investors in People status, Inclusion Charter Mark, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Kite Mark, and the Leading Aspect Award for its collaboration with primary schools.[1]
In 2010, Newall Green High School joined the SMILE trust, along with 3 feeder schools. As a result, Neil Wilson was promoted to Director of the trust, leaving the Headteacher's position vacant. He was replaced by Alison Wright in 2012, who had been acting as interim Headteacher for the previous 2 years. Alison Wright is currently assisted by her deputies: Ruth Drury and Kate Donovan. In April 2015 the school converted to academy status as part of a multi academy trust along with Chorlton High School.
