Nevena Karanović

Dr Nevena Karanović (Serbian Cyrillic: Невена Карановић) is a Serbian cardiologist and politician.[1]

Dr Karanović studied at the University of Niš, gaining a master's degree (1997) and a PhD (2001) in cardiology. She worked in Niš as a cardiologist at the Clinic of Cardiovascular Diseases from 1988 to 2004, when she became a member of the Serbian Government.[1]

She was Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Health from March to October 2004 and has since been Deputy Minister/State Secretary in the same ministry. From November 2007, Karanović has worked as an assistant professor in the Megatrend University in Belgrade.[1]

Dr Karanović is married and has two children. She speaks English and French and plays the violin. She was one of the founders of the G17 Plus political party.[1]
